Though love is as old as humanity, since about 1750 we have been identifying it with romance - and it has been a disaster for love. Relationships challenges that notion, and proposes that: love and sex may not always belong together; discussing money early on is not a betrayal of love; recognising our flaws and those of our partner is a huge benefit; we will never find everything in another person; spending two hours on discussing hanging up towels properly has its own dignity.
